The pollution risk of the lead-acid battery industry is large; therefore, there are very high standard requirements to its emissions and control limits to its dust removal. Corresponding dust-removal devices to each of the lead battery production workflows is needed to ensure safe production and to protect the health of the workers. The advanced physical purification method is generally applied in the lead smoke and dust purification in lead-acid battery industry, while its main component is pulse filter cartridge dust remover. The mechanism of pulse cartridge filter is that the lead dust gas first enters the cartridge bag filter from the inlet, then the contained dust is trapped on the outer surface of the cartridge while the purified gas passes through the cartridge and is discharged from the outlet. After a certain interval, the compressed air back-blow system is turned on to blow the pulse airflow into the filter cartridge, then the dust outside the filter cartridge will fall into the ash hopper due to the pulse vibration. If the filter cartridge is damaged, the lead dust will enter the exhaust duct through the leak and be discharged into the atmosphere and cause environment pollution. There are a few defects to the regular inspection method adopted before:
A.Regular weekly inspection is needed regardless of whether or not there is damage to the filter cartridge;
B.The labor intensity of the regular inspection is quite high. There is a set of low-pressure pulse cartridge filters in the lead smoke and dust remover system, while each system contains 24-120 filter cartridges. Every single cartridge needs to be examined during a regular inspection.
C.Inspector faces harsh and severe working environments. The dust remover must be opened in order to examine the filter cartridge, and dust is scattered around in the dust removal chamber. There is a high risk to the health of the inspector as he needs to stay in the dust chamber.
In addition, the monitoring and management of pollution source treatment of lead-acid battery industry by the Environmental Protection Bureau is usually limited by its number of supervising staff and technical capability; therefore, the real-time monitoring and systematic supervising cannot be extensively implemented. There is a high necessity to implement whole-process monitoring and supervising to the pollution source treatment and emission control by installing the whole-process monitoring and supervising system to the pollution control and treatment equipment of the enterprise, and to form an equipment network with an integrated central comprehensive management platform.
The whole-process monitoring and supervising to treat and control the pollution source of lead-acid battery enterprises can first serve the supervising and control of the pollution emission of the enterprises as well as the emission data approval and environmental monitoring tasks of the environment protection authority. Moreover, the filter bag leakage monitoring and positioning system not only identifies the early fault of the dust collector, it also prevents the risk of severe pollution accidents.
