Open-Space Dust Explosion
The source of dust in open-space is mainly dust produced in workshops during production, fluidized bed and transportation processes.
In the sense of labor safety and hygiene, dust does harm to the health of site workers and seriously pollutes the working environment. High concentration of dust decreases the air quality; it brings health hazards to workers, but it also accelerates the wear of machine parts and decreases the life-span of machines and equipment. When falling onto electrical components, dust may damage insulation and cause accidents. The building structure will also suffer from corrosion and damage due to excessive dust deposits.
In terms of safety, due to the large space of the factory, the indoor dust is huge in scale and dispersed in distribution. The dust in the center may not be removed to the outside of the factory by the ventilation system in a timely manner; therefore, the large amount of accumulated dust may cause a risk of dust explosion when reaching the concentration limit. The usual explosion process includes the early phase, spreading, scale-up and the end of conflagration.
